5/3: Emily Gold Harvard & Stone Residency: Tuesday Nights

Join us for the first Tuesday night in May as we help kick off Emily Gold’s Harvard & Stone Residency with our pals Sister Crowley and Crook! Also, read our interview with Emily to learn more about what to expect every Tuesday this May.

5/5: Kid Congo and the Pink Monkey Birds w/ Silver Shadows and Cruel Summer @ Thee Parkside

If you’re trying to have a mellow and sweet Cinco de Mayo, we highly suggest you hang out at Thee Parkside to get lost in gleaming jams from SF’s Cruel Summer and Silver Shadows, then stick around for a sure to be legendary set by Kid Congo (formed by members of The Cramps, The Gun Club, and Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds).

5/7: Spindrift w/ Magic Wands and more @ MadHaus

The dudes at Astro Lizard Records and Freak Style have done it again, teaming up to present a solid night of psych jams. Joining Spindrift (members of BJM and The Warlocks), is Magic Wands, Drinking Flowers, and Vanilla (Alex of Cosmonauts).

5/8: The She’s w/ Crush, Mo Troper & The Assumptions and more @ The Hole

Sunday has never looked better. The Hole in Oakland has been hosting shows for a few months now, always bringing SF bands across the Bay to play with East Bay’s usual suspects, while leaving a spot or two on the bill for traveling bands.

5/13: Tongues EP Release @ The Smell

Penniback and Danger Collective are throwing this banger of an EP release party for Tongues. This one’s gonna be heavy: they’ll be raging with Zig Zags, Rexx, and Greaser. Good lord!

5/25: The World (Record Release) w/ Delete and a New Band @ El Rio

The World will be on tour this month, so to celebrate their homecoming, they are playing a show with Delete and an unnamed band (featuring members of Negative Standards, The New Flesh, Quaaludes, and PIG DNA) on top of releasing a record that very day. This is the party you don’t want to miss. If you simply can’t wait until the end of the month to see their brilliant set, catch ’em this this Thursday at the White Horse as they kick off their tour.

May is actually loaded w/ tons of shows that we couldn’t list in this post. See a wider list of upcoming shows here.
