Video Premiere: Acid Tongue “Beautiful Disaster”

Seattle’s fuzzy psych rockers Acid Tongue share music video for “Beautiful Disaster” from their upcoming EP via Freakout Records.

Following up their 2015 EP release of i died dreaming, the Seattle based three-piece will release their second EP titled Beautiful Disaster this August. The title track, “Beautiful Disaster,” is a shimmery and psych-tinged ode to classic rock with a contemporary foundation of reverb heavy garage rock.

The low-budget, DIY video was filmed by lead singer Guy Keltner and his partner Stephanie Severance during a trip to Hawaii. The video begins with romantic scenes of Keltner swimming and walking through nature all under a hazy, film-like quality. Halfway through, the vacation is over. Things take a turn as a haunting of sorts takes place, indicated by the REDRUM reference to The Shining and appearance of pentagrams.

“The video is a visual interpretation of letting your innermost demons run free. This is a love letter to someone important that can’t seem to get things right with their life,” says Keltner. “We sought to elucidate the elements that make up a functional mess of a human being. Alcohol, ego, drug use, narcissism; these are all things that drive someone to act out.”
