Video Premiere: Shutups “Pop Pest”

Oakland’s Shutups share new music video for “Pop Pest,” the first single off their upcoming debut release with Astro Lizard Records.

Shot in one take, the video for “Pop Pest” is a 54-second blitz of gravity-defying, garage pop-punk set against a glitchy backdrop of video game visuals. Bursts of energetic riffs and crashing cymbals set the tone for colliding freight trucks and spinning school buses as Mia (drums) and Hadley (guitar) perform upright, although they were actually upside down during the filming process. The track is a shorter cut for the band, but it’s just as explosive, if not more, than any of their past releases.

To celebrate their one-year anniversary as a band, ‘ep3’ will be Shutups‘ third release (their first with Astro Lizard), and it drops this Friday, February 17.
