LA art punks French Vanilla enjoyed the release of their debut self-titled album (via Danger Collective) with a balloon-filled celebration at The Smell.
French Vanilla were joined by Post Life and Roses, bands who’ve shared the bill together many times before, but still, it’s rare these days to see all three in one night. As an added bonus, DJ Baby Donut, aka riot girl legend Allison Wolfe, was on hand to get everyone grooving between sets with numbers like that one Destiny’s Child/Fugazi mashup.
The stars of the night, French Vanilla, were eager to celebrate and kick off the realease of their debut album with both new and old songs off their set list. If you had seen them recently, you probably heard a good chunk of the record live without knowing it. And to boot, they just released a music video for go-to favorite “Carrie,” which found a spot on the album tracklist.
